Bunratty Manor Hotel

This accommodation did have a lot to recommend it, but our room was dirty enough that I will not consider returning. The front desk staff and flowers were really lovely. However, when we walked into our room, it smelled like feet. Fortunately, the linens looked and smelled clean. There was visible mold growth on the shower grout and lots of buildup on the shower head. My biggest issue was the dried blood on the hygiene bags that had not been cleaned up after a previous guest — it was visible from a distance and right beside the toilet, so hard not to see. There was also hair on the floor in the corners of the bathroom. The air conditioning was nice in theory, but it didn’t work. We woke up seriously sweating in the night after it had been running for 5+ hours. It was a short, convenient trip to the airport by car. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner. The nearby restaurants we tried (recommended by the hotel) served the worst food I’ve had in my 4 visits to Ireland and were expensive. Felt like a tourist trap.

Our flight arrived at 6:00am, and we booked the hotel room from the night before so there would be someone available to check us in at that hour of the morning. We really enjoyed our two nights at Bunratty Manor which gave us time to rest prior to beginning our Irish adventure. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was wonderful!

Amazing experience! The outside is decorated with flowers and I was blown away by how cute and clean the rooms were too. The staff have also been extremely kind and accommodating. They offered advice on where to go and were extremely helpful. They even allowed us to use their dryer last minute and returned my clothes to me folded which was a kind surprise!! It's clear the staff care about their customers and want everyone to have an amazing experience. They succeeded! This will be the first place I think of whenever I think of Shannon. Highly recommend.
